Default I heard it was a trick of the projector optics. Ever notice the rainbow effect at the edge of the

cut off? Like against you garage door. that's what other cars see too. first it's blue then it get's whiter as the come gets closer.

Default Absolutely do. But, generally, BMW does appear to be bluer than others....

Assuming BMW's also have some sort of non-Ecode cutoff, shouldn't we all have the same rainbow.?

Default I've noticed that newer BMWs use an ecode type cutoff. Not sure if they're true ecodes.

Also note that the older an HID bulb is the more blue it appears.

I did not think the E-codes (euro spec) are legal here so BMWs here should be non e-code

Last I checked (back in 2003), both DOT and ECE are legal here.

OK, but I wonder why audi puts DOT headlights in my C5 Canadian car? Why not use E-code (ECE?)

No idea. I'm guessing they treat the Canadian market as a subset of US.
