My 1984 4000S quattro is hard to get through the gears. It is really hard shifting into reverse. If the engine is running, it grinds pretty bad engaging reverse. I usually shut the engine of to jam it into reverse so it doesn't grind, but I need to force it. The forward gears all offer some resistance as I try to shift through them, but they don't grind like reverse. Any insight for me? Thanks!

The shift linkage bushings like to be a lil bugger replace those and she dhould be fine if worst comes to worst you need a new clutch
