injector question
hi,
I just bought a 1990 Audi quattro coupe its going to be a d/d for the time being but might get raised to project in the future, not sure yet. so that aside on to the problem. Surprisingly I have an injector failing, i was wondering what other cars can i get these Hitachi injectors out of, I know about the 034 injector kit to upgrade to Bosch injectors, but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the stock motor for very long so i don't want to dump real money into upgrading/repairing, it yet.
thanks
Jeff

Jeff,
New Quattro owner here, but long time wrench swinger. I don't know what you mean by "failing", but the injectors on the 5 cylinder look like a piece of cake to remove. Most towns have a specialist who can clean, renew and test your injectors for $20 each or less. You walk in the door with them and a few days later they'll hand them back to you like new. So if they're merely 23 years old and a bit crudded up you might consider this. Others here may have insight into my "eyeball estimate" of piece of cake. I will be doing exactly this within the next couple weeks. Hopefully there is no hidden bolt head that cant be accessed without removing the intake manifold.....
