I have a 2004 Audi A6 Quattro & I'm having trouble w/ my power steering. The other day I was driving my car to the gas station to put air in my tires . While waiting to put air in my tires , the car started smoking . So I popped the hood & check my fluids . Everything was fine except my power steering fluid , it was no fluid in the resivoir. So I drove the car back home after putting some more fluid in & it went out again as soon as I got back to the neighborhood . I couldn't find a leak in my hoses & the pump is still good . Just yesterday I tried cranking up the car & letting it run for a bit & I noticed there was a puddle a few inches away from my drive side tire, but I wasn't able to see where I came . Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong ?

Check the boots for the tie rods. More than likely the seal on the driver's side is leaking. If so youll see the boot full of fluid and dripping. If thats the caes it is time for a new rack.
