2017 S3 vs S4 what is your recommendation?....
Looking for a fun car for my wife who has had enough of her GL 450. I wanted her to get the S6, but she thought it would still be too big so now
we are looking at either an S3 or S4 2017 MY.
Any input? She would need something sporty and fun to drive that could also be driven in the New England winters.
Since the S6 is out of the question, I am personally leaning more toward the S3 due its smaller size, lesser weight and more sporty look, but I am open for suggestions.
TIA

We liked them both...
… my wife is a passionate canyon carver out here in LA - although I lived on Cape Cod for forty years (where I fell in love with Audi's). We have had S4/S5/RS5, etc and the new S3 is a real hoot - very responsive (like our previous VWR32 - only more powerful and agile). Don't hesitate to check the VW R as they are similar (identical drivetrain) and in New England, the R is under appreciated. The back seat in the R is more roomy than in the S3. We are actually considering an S3 or VW-R and an S6 so that we can still charge the canyons together (in separate cars). Right now, our S4/RS5 combo is a hoot, but a bit impractical when family needs dictate a truly usable back seat.

I also wouldn't rule out the SQ5 if you want to keep things in an SUV world. I actually prefer it to my S4, it is a kick to drive and awesome in our Colorado winters.
