Hi, my 2008 a6 has 133k km.
While on motorway the revs suddenly went to 8k and engine cut out.
The audi dealer said i need a new engine. However they don't know the cause of the crank case housing braking. Has anybody had the same experience?

Theo, welcome aboard! Sounds like your engine suffered diesel "runaway"! Not good.
