hey guys and gals, i'm a BMW e30 guy (86 325es) and just picked up what i hope is a deal on a 2000 A4 2.8 Quattro. gonna need some guidance. i know it's an interference engine. it has 183k on the clock and no belt change sticker under the hood. so that's first. watched a couple you-tube videos and the use a couple special tools. are all these tools pretty much a must? can they be rented? or picked up in the forums on a pass around basis? I've done T-belts on my e30 but that's sohc straight 6, not the duels of the V6. also, none of the windows work nor does the sun roof. i did manually close it. oil pressure gauge and coolant temp gauges don't work. just got her home and it's dark. i'll check fuses tomorrow but if not them where should i start. oh yea, paid 400 for the car, interior is real close to mint, black on black all leather with all the bells and whistles right up to and including a heated steering wheel. needs a few outer trim pieces, no big deal. your thoughts as well as chronic what to look out for quirks on these would be appreciated.

Blauparts has very good step by step instructions for timing belt replacement. I will be doing the belt and water pump on 98 A4 2.8 using their instructions.
