Default S5 in lockdown, manual key still won't unlock door

2008 v8 S5. Key fob does nothing, manual key turns in lock but does not unlock the door. There are a few warning lights on the dash. Assuming the battery is dead but giving something to warning lights no idea why? But no way of getting in the car to get pop the hood and jump it. Any ideas as to the issue?

Even with a dead car battery, the manual key should still work. If the smart key and manual key are not unlocking the car then one possibility is that you have some kind of failure in your door lock control module. It's not uncommon for the micro-switches in the module to fail or accumulate debris which can cause intermittent failure.

Thanks, any ways to get into the car without causing damage or does it need to go to Audi?

If it is the door lock module, and there is still some battery life, have you tried holding down the Unlock button on the smart key remote for >5 seconds to open the windows?

I would try what Glisse suggested and attempt to get the window open.

I came across this post in which the owner experienced a similar lockout to what you are describing: Drivers door lock will not unlock with key - HELP | Audi-Sport.net

From what I gathered, in the end he had AAA come out and open the door from him.
