Audi to return to Laguna Seca for 2009 ALMS - Yeah!
Audi to enter R15 prototype in Petit Le Mans, Laguna Seca races
As it turns out, Audi's appearance in the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring on March 21 will not be the only time the German manufacturer races on American soil this year, as originally expected.
According to Rupert Stadler, chairman of the board of management of Audi AG, the two new R15 LMP1 prototypes will fire their turbodiesel engines in the American Le Mans Series' Petit Le Mans event at Road Atlanta on Sept. 26, and the season finale at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on Oct. 10. Audi will also compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.
Stadler made the comments at the Geneva motor show, and an Audi North America executive declined to dispute the news, which comes as welcome information to race fans who expected Sebring--where Audi will take on factory efforts from Peugeot and Acura--to be their one and only shot at seeing the R15s in action in the United States in 2009.

Now why would I do that?
Last year was the 1st time at Laguna Seca for me and the Audi Club people were wonderful.
Here's the link to see I did not make it up;

I just hope the Audi Club still has/can get back their turn-5 tent location for 2009. Otherwise, I'll have to attend over at the Porsche tent.

I'm just one of many hugely disappointed fans that Audi is moving on from ALMS. So, your news...
...is probably the best news I've read recently regarding motorsports. Especially, since so many teams are bowing out or reducing their schedules. Believe me, I was really wanting to believe you! Thanks for the link!
I, too, hope ACNA will host a tent again. It was a great place to base from while taking in all that was offered.
Thanks for the info!
