You sound like a good friend of mine. He breaks everything down to a total cost per hour, and compares it to his average hourly wage. Very analytical he is......then again to a fault at some extent. I mean he even does it when considering playing golf.....

I'm really only doing it this time because it just seemed too out of whack with my expectations.

When I was a kid, I wrenched on cars all day long because it was fun. When I first started working I wrenched on cars because I needed them to run to get back and forth to work and I didn't have any money to pay someone else. It became very un-fun.

After a while of working my time became more valuable to me so I'm generally quick to pay someone to do the job, especially if I anticipate lots of swearing. But my past makes these labor quotes seem, well, unreasonable.

Who knows, since these are performance mods and not repairs, maybe it will be fun again. :-)
