All downhill since the buyout. Will never go there again. I'll drive up to Rector.
For example:
1) Asked them to fix brake problem with allroad (i.e. "warped" symptoms every 8-10,000 miles. Them, "when the tech got in your car he found the parking brake on. The brakes are damaged because you have been driving with the parking brake on." (this one was my all-time favorite)
2) Same brake problem next time. Them: "You are riding your brakes and over heating them. This is just what happens in Bay Area driving." Strange, never a problem with the last 10 cars I've owned...
3) When my tranny was acting up (in warranty). Them: "Everything is working normal no problems. These trannys never have problems." Once out of warranty when it finally blows up: "It's out of warranty. You need a new transmission and torque converter. This is a common problem."
4) Quote to replace one front O2 sensor: 2.5 hours labor. DIY 20 minutes, never done one before.
Need I go on?

Yes,
Sold it to me as a CPO car, but I have doubts about the inspection. Missing belly pan, worn out tires, promised to do control arms but didn't, noisy water pump that failed after 1 month. Changed the tires before purchase, and fitted the wrong size (wrong width for the wheels!)
There's the time they fitted one of my lower control arms to the wrong mounting hole, causing distinctly odd handling, and a steering wheel at 25 degrees. Took it back, they took the steering wheel off, put it back on straight. Found the problem myself with a flashlight. Pics are in my picture post.
Put the control arm back in the right hole, then the pivot bolt worked loose after a month. Had to take it in again for re-torqueing.
Or the time they flushed the brake fluid, and delivered it to me with the ABS warning light on and a fried controller.
Four attempts to fix a blowing fuse 14.
Changed the steering rack and it leaked fluid everywhere after 6 months.
Add to that the hostile attitude from the staff (both sales and service).

Well, after George left to go to Rector..I got good service
I have to admit they might have bent the rules for me on an occasion or two. It was good service to me.

Stevens Ck Parts Dept is worthwhile - But after many experiences over the years with them I now go
to Carlsen for any warranty service work - never been disappointed since I switched.
BTW : Stevens Ck are NOT mod friendly, so I would fully expect denial of warranty claim because aftermarket suspension/brakes make the care go faster than designed (almost direct quote from Ray Aalgaard) !
