Second the Honda. Also consider a Subaru
I think either would be more reliable than an older Jetta. Subies got the AWD, much nicer on days like this or if she's a skiier.

Fred's got an old Volvo in the garage..will ask him about selling it cheap to ya...
It's a tough old car... think it used to be mom & dad's, now it's the spare car...but he said they really don't need it...will check w/ him on how serious he is on selling it, and price range...
