Default Depends on what you failed to obey, but usually is a moving violation..

...failure to obey a traffic control device (a sign like "no left turn", or light etc) is a "moving" violation.

Default was pulled over for speeding-he said he wrote it up as this violation so it would not be a moving..

infraction, but it has the speed on the ticket. Not trusting what the cop said. The 2 boexes for the posted speed and my speed ar filled in but the infraction only stated is "fail to obey STC" and the ord. code.

Default Nope.

If the site below is to be believed, 14-298 applies to the State Traffic Commission and what they are empowered to do. It does not govern what a motorist can or can not do, so it doesn't apply to you.

14-298 is what they are using to charge you. If it's incorrect, it's too late for them to fix it, so you should be able to get it tossed on the grounds that it doesn't apply to you.<ul><li><a href="http://www.cga.ct.gov/2001/pub/Chap249.htm">http://www.cga.ct.gov/2001/pub/Chap249.htm</a</li></ul>

Default That link is dated 2005.

According to this more recent link, there is a fine associated, but I have yet to find any information indicating the statute was changed to declare the conduct of a motorist. Do some more research on the subject.<ul><li><a href="http://www.jud.ct.gov/Publications/Infractions/Infractions.pdf">http://www.jud.ct.gov/Publications/Infractions/Infractions.pdf</a</li></ul>

Default I disagree...

the 14-298 is the laws that allows the city to post and use TCD's (traffic control devices).

In this case the TCD is the speed limit sign, which boostedfun failed to obey.

Having the posted limit and his speed on the ticket makes it read as a speeding ticket.

Default

There should be a "subsection" listed on the ticket that puts the offense in more detail.

Default In NJ, failure to obey a traffic signal isn't considered a point violation.

At least it wasn't last time I checked. One of the lawyers on here could answer it better than I can.
