Default Why do tires scallop/cup on inside or outside edge? Alignment or balance. Which one's the culprit?

Both of my fronts are cupping on the inside edge. Independent shop did an alignment, I wasn't happy and they gave me a refund. My ****ty-*** Nissan dealer can't do alignments on 18s so they are useless.

Default This might help you.

My guess is they are probably scalloped and it is due to to much toe-out. toe-in would wear on the outside edge.<ul><li><a href="http://www.metropark.com/safewaytire/tireware.html">http://www.metropark.com/safewaytire/tireware.html</a</li></ul>

Default if it's feathered across the tire then, inside = toe out, outside = toe in. more tire info. -->

If it's just the edge then, inside = too much neg. camber and outside = pos. camber, which is rare and I'm not sure that you could with an Audi. It would have to be way out of spec.

go to the alignment section:<ul><li><a href="http://www.discounttiredirect.com/right_help.html">http://www.discounttiredirect.com/right_help.html</a</li></ul>
