Default Does anyone know how to remove "clear and sticky substance" from trees without damage the paint job?

I parked my car under some kind of tree and there are some kind of clear, sticky liquid from the tree dripped on my hood. I wash it and it wouldn't come off. Do you guys know how to remove things like this without damage the paint? Also, where can I get a good deal on Valentine?

It's called tree sap. Try using Bug 'n Tar Remover or something similar made for removing sap.

Default The clear stuff is usually aphid discharge (aka CRAP!)

and it's horribly sticky and tough to remove. Hot water will loosen it up (tough on your wax of course) and if necessary use some bug and tar removed. Good luck.

Default DeSolveIt works pretty good for tree sap and road grease. Valentine Ones. Might give Ebay a try.

Hope that works.

Default Goo Gone

Very non-abrasive, and works well. Also has a fresh citruicy scent!

Default Yes, it's bug crap not sap.

The real solution is to spray the trees with a good systemic insecticide (long as it's not a fruit tree).

"Greased Lightning" is the best thing I've found. it's tricky to track down, though.
