2008 A8L W12 parting out
Hey Audi friends, Just wanted to update this post with my progress
I have been working hard at striping the car to the bare body so I can send it to the scrap yard. That will free up space in the garage so I can start getting organized and getting pictures of anything for sale. I have updated the list of part available or will be available as I complete the upgrades to my current 07 A8L. If you'd like to contact me about any parts please PM me or send to my personal e-mail: surfacesmith@gmail.com
I also have to say that I love these cars even more now that I have been taking one apart! I work at an OEM (not Audi) and I'm amazed at the engineering ingenuity that goes into these cars. The attention to detail in areas the customer never sees is truly amazing. The tight packaging of components and hiding nearly every fasteners is something I don't see in most of the automotive industry.
Thanks for looking!
Tim Smith
(All prices are best offer unless otherwise noted. I haven't spent much time researching prices so please let me know if something is too high or low)

Are the MMI controls in good shape? My main **** is showing wear and it's probably easiest just to change out the entire unit rather than trying to refurbish the existing one. I can only assume those controls are universal across all A8 D3s. Also, if you can get the silver control panel trim off in one piece without any cracked fasteners, I'll buy that as well. Mine has one fastener that cracked when it was removed to get to the MMI screen and now it produces a rattle that's really annoying.

If this has a functioning updated trunk raise motor, let me know what you would like for it.
EDIT: Also, when you say front console cell phone bin, do you mean the cup holder area? I would take that as well.

I know you said the navi gear was taken, but I wanted to ask for verification. I'm looking for the mechanism that rotates the display screen up and down. Is that available?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hey Audi Friends, I've updated the main post in this thread. If you'd like to discuss parts please send me an email (listed above) or PM me. I have been using all my free time working on dismantling the car so I have not had much time to view this page... Thanks! Tim
