The dazzling CD-changer-size PhatNoise Car Audio System (CAS) hits all the right notes. This under-seat or trunk-mounted jukebox plays MP3 and WMA files, and you control the music through the head unit (radio receiver) in your car. The CAS works with more than a dozen replacement radios (notably Kenwood and Sony models) and offers adapters for many existing car radios.

You start by ripping music on your PC with either your existing software or the supplied Music Management Software (MMS), then transferring to the cartridge using MMS and a USB cradle. The 20GB cartridge holds the equivalent of 300 to 500 CDs (depending on encoding speed), and a 30GB version is on the way.

holy crap this brought back memories. i haven't seen one of these since i installed one in my first b5 back in the day. this is by far one of the best additions to the vehicle. it was insane at the time. "now sorting by genre" i heard that voice pop into my head when i read the thread title.

lol...this brought back a lot of nostalgic memories for me too. I remember this being cutting edge, at the time, and all of a sudden I didn't have to carry around CDs and could just have "infinite" music It's quant knowing how quickly we've moved on whereby now I stream anything via my mobile phone and to an A2DP BT directly through the car speakers.
