Default 2000 Audi A4 quattro tranny problems

I have a 2000 brilliant yellow Audi a4, with the 5 speed tiptronic transmission and black interior (1 of 7 of this car in America according to Audi of America). Anyway, I recently started experiencing tranny slipping, but the weird part is that it more than slips when turning, it completely disengages and there is no power to the wheels soentiemes while turning. Any thoughts or ideas? Recently did timing belt with dad who is a mechanic and I know it's sound and running great, but maybe removing the service carriage there was a vaccum line or soemthing? Is quattro vaccum actuated like some 4wd systems? Thanks for the help, I need it.

It slips when turning because its most likely low on fluid. Check and add as necessary. If so, repair the fluid leak as well.
