Default Electric Power Steering

Hello Guys!

Do you know which models can equip the electric power steering? And do you know if it comes as optional or as a standard feature?

Thanks a lot,
Cheers,

Manny

Depending on the platform, the switch was made in 2012/2013. So any all-new or facelift model that was released in 2012 or later has EPS and it's not an option. Most performance models S and higher, though, have a choice between two EPS systems. The standard EPS or the dynamic EPS aka Dynamic Steering. For US spec models the Dynamic Steering is either part of the Driver Assist package, or as in the 2016+ S6 part of a sport package and on the RS7 it's standard. The dynamic EPS is a more sporty, more direct steering with closer ratios and it adjusts the ratio based on the current Drive Select mode and the speed of the car. The steering can change from very direct at slow speed for easy parking to very indirect at high speed for outstanding straight-line highway stability. Having had the dynamic EPS in my RS5 for the last three years and driven a bunch of other Audis with the standard EPS, the dynamic EPS is the one you want if you value a sporty steering with decent feedback.
