extract dynamo from audi a4 2001 engine??

extract dynamo from audi a4 2001 engine??
Is it normal to remove the whole front of the car to get the dynamo out of an a4? Or is there something I should know, that would make it easeyer..? The bottom bolt can't get out because of the cooling-fan beeing in the way.. stupid sh**
