My wife recently purchased a Q3, but before doing so we test drove plenty of vehicles and one of which was the GLA. The sticker price was 42k and we felt like for that kind of money the ride should reflect the sticker price. The was harsh and rough. We both took turns sitting in the back seat and felt cramped. I'm 5'9 and had a issue with headroom. The only area the GLA excels in is exterior styling. It's a sexier looking vehicle. The interior is sexy, too, but price, space, ride quality and a transmission that seemed to search for gears pushed us right to the Audi dealer. You get a lot of standard features in the Q3 that are add-ons in the GLA, so we ended up with a Q3 that was almost 10 grand less.

I've seen the GLA Benz and it's a handsome car with a muscular attractive look on the exterior. It has the aluminum trim of the allroad on the outside, so a really attractive crossover. But pricewise, it's an expensive car with the options. The Q3 would be a cheaper option for the same size. I'm not sure about the speed, but the GLA Benze is rated 7.2 seconds 0 - 60. The cheapest 2.0 Q5 is rated at 7.0 seconds 0 - 60. If you need space, get the cheapest Q5 configuration as the 2.0 Q5 is probably just as fast as the GLA Benz.

Do you know if GLA has sport seats in the sport package? I have long thighs and the deeper seats are a godsend on long trips. I like Audi's seats. I plan to get a Q5 but the Q3 is going to have suffice for the next few years until some more money becomes available...
