2016 Q3

I know. WTF? It's almost like they're running a business for profit or something!
And US sales only up 15.2% last year. Up 20% last month yr/yr. They must be crazy.
• RS Q3 has no market here. Have to start at $60,000+.
• A1 sales in the US would be virtually zero. Think Fiat 500 roominess for $10,000 more.
• Q3 with 211hp and an 8 speed would be nice though. But I want a modern chassis too. MQB please.
I just don't get the outrage.

I found your post a little overwrought and the sarcasm was in response to that. Apologies if I offended.

2016 Order Guide lists 2.0 TFSI 200hp and TipTronic.

thank you for that link. i am bumming on this. i'd like to get into something smaller than my SQ5. it's too big for me and i dont get to use the power. i was planning to buy a 2016 Q3 after reading about the bump in power/torque. i had a 2015 Q3 as a loaner, and the engine didnt quite do it for me - i def dont need SQ5 level of power, but the Q3's engine wasnt quite there. so i was sad to learn we won't be getting the upgraded engine for 2016.

I read the same thing in an article - that the cost would be too high to bring it here. I have run through the numbers, comparing the cost of the Q3 in UK vs. the cost of the RSQ3 in the UK. Then I did a proportion to estimate the cost of the RSQ3 in the US. I converted GBP to USD.
UK Q3 - $37898
UK RSQ3 - $68002
US Q3 - $32500
US RSQ3 (estimated) - $58316
So if the ratio holds true, it would be about 5600 dollars more than the SQ5 in the US. Whereas in the UK, the RSQ3 is about 1200 dollars more than the SQ5. I can see the gap there, but am still hoping we see a 2017 RSQ3 in NA.

Still not enough to make me want to buy!
The new 2016 Q3 has added some colors: Hainan Blue Metallic (better the 2015 blue offering), and a real red: Misano Red Pearl Effect!
I also know that there are some other smaller updates.
It would also be nice if the 2016 Q3 build would also work on the Audi site.
Now if only they had done something about my biggest objections: The mini-Audi 2.0 liter engine and the brain dead transmission.
I still would not buy one.
