Default MMI Screen Folding

Has anyone attempted to modify the MMI screen to fold up/down either manually or electrically?

WTF??

I can't believe the stupidity of AUDI regarding the features of the Q3 in the US.

PuroMexicano, are you in Mexcio? I am coming down to Merida, Mexico in a few weeks. I am going to look for the Adi dealership and check out the cars. The US always gets odd marketing decisions from Audi.

A number of us have already swapped the parts for a manual folding screen.

Audi, VW, ?koda, Seat OEM & VAG parts | oemVWshop.com

P/N : 8U0 857 273 B for the bin to replace NAR Q3s

P/N : 8U0 857 336 A for the back cover of the bin above

Shipping charge to the US is a flat €40. So I would suggest a group buy.

The swap also takes about 1 hour.

I can't take credit for this as a member at another Audi forum did the swap first.

Here's mine after the install with the new folding screen up and folded.

Yes, I am in Mexico, but in the city of Monterrey (northern Mexico)

I know Merida very well, so

Forget about Audi Dealerships and devote yourself to eating like a Roman Emperor. Yucatecan food is my favorite and is ranked as the best food in Mexico.

Visit these restaurants:
1. La tradición
2. KU'UK
3. Hacienda Tella
4. Rosas and Xocolate
Those are Yucatecan cuisine

Italian: COSA NOSTRA
Sushi: SENSEI

Go have drinks at Paseo Montejo street bars, visit Puerto Progreso.

If it is a business trip I know time is limited, if it is for vacation send me a PM and I can help you with tips.

When does the fold up/down happen? Is ther an overide. I wouldn't always want it opened.

It's a manual entry and not automatic. It's folds down when you put it down.

There are times when we're driving and it's folded down and all is well (meaning radio is playing). Just need to remember to unfold it when putting the car in reverse.

mine is always unfolded, if it is not automatic I dont see the need to fold/unfold manually

I love the A3 auto folding screen
