Q3 5k Service

Just had the 5k service done at my local Audi dealer. They use Castrol Edge synthetic. In the past I've used Pennzoil Ultra in my cars with no issues for years in trucks/cars with 150k+.

Any opinions about Castrol synthetics?

My Audi dealer has used Castrol synthetic in my last 4 Audi's and none has had any oil consumption or engine issues.

I am new to Audis and am interested in this subject. I have much more experience with BMW and Castrol Edge is factory spec for my M vehicle.

At least in the US, BMW has recently switched suppliers and as of beginning of 2015, BMW now officially recommends Pennzoil products. There is a new BMW 0w-40 as well as 10w-60 made by Pennzoil (SOPUS) that you will now find at your local BMW dealer...
