Q3 Towbar options in the USA

If doesn't have the weld nuts on the existing bumper, then you're taking off the rear bumper cover, then the rear bumper and fitting the entire bar rather then just the receiver.

OK folks, take note; U Haul part # 36335 bolts right up to the Q3, requiring only some trimming of the lower part of the plastic bumper cover to allow the receiver to pass through. I installed one on my Q3 this morning. This is a discontinued part at least for the time being (it was designed for early Tiguan and has been replaced by a part that bolts to the Tiguan bumper). Installation does not require removal of the bumper cover so it's a simple job. If you want one I suggest calling U Haul and trying to locate one of the remaing old stock.

Looks like Amazon is still carrying the Curt variants of that one.

I suspect that item is not available. As I noted earlier, I ordered via one of the online vendors and the order, shipped directly from the manufacturer, was a replacement item designed for the Tiguan hitch prepped bumper, not at all compatible with the Q3. I didn't contact every seller but it's likely that they're all out of stock since the manufacturer has none to ship. I posted the U Haul information because in all likelihood this may be the only source right now and there's very limited old stock. Just trying to save others the aggravation if they want a hitch before it's back in production or Audi makes one available. If someone can confirm another verifiable source, then that's great, but amazon and eBay listings do not mean actual product is available.
