Wait for 2016 Q3 or buy 2015 now?
I am ready to purchase a Q3 and am very excited about it (grad school loans are finally gone and I can upgrade to a newer car), but I am conflicted on when I should make my purchase. I know what features/package I want, but also want to make sure that I am not missing out on any new additions that the next model will have, since this is just the first launch in the US.
Rumors are that the 2016 US launch will have upgraded/refreshed features (including a new front grill and some other facelifts). Audi online confirmed that the new 2016 model would start shipping in the beginning of summer. They could not confirm if there would be changes to the styling, etc.
Is anybody else out there waiting to purchase or did you order at 2015 model?

We have our Q3 for close to 2 weeks (450 miles) and we like it.
The few features I would have liked better would be if it had
1) Memory seats - from my understanding, not going to happen
2) HomeLink - We're going to do an aftermarket install in the sunvisor
3) MMI Folding down - Same as above. Getting the bin and parts from Audi in Spain to make it fold down.
Otherwise, beyond the facelift. no reason to wait.

On the German Audi site "www.audi.de" is the Q3 I have been told is coming to the US in mid 2016. There are styling changes for sure. but if you can translate the German (and handle being jealous of the number of engine options over there), you may figure out what there is about it that is different.

I think the 2016 is just a mild refresh. The only thing really worth waiting for is the switch to the MQB platform... but not sure when that is coming.
The dual clutch transmission would also be worth the wait.

Agreed... though soon you can get an A3 Sportback with TDI and dual clutch tranny, though only FWD. I have a Q5 now and really want to get back into an A3 Sportback. If Audi USA would offer the TDI Sportback with AWD, I would ditch the Q5 in a heartbeat. For that matter, any A3 Sportback with dual clutch and AWD would be fine for me. Sure wish Audi USA would not be so stingy with the powertrain offerings.

I am in a similar position. I have decided to buy, but I need to buy a car because my current one may have some expensive things in the near future and I will kick myself if it breaks and I am out that money. I have asked a lot of Audi people and read the rumors and from what I gather it will be 2016 before a new one makes it over, possibly as a 2017. If it 2016 gets anything new, it may just be a face lift (I would love better colors). The TDI and platform change will probably coincide with VW's new Tiguan. Too long to wait.

We are solving 2 and 3 with an aftermarket/but OEM install for #3
