I checked the manual after submitting my previous post. It said turn off ignition, pull and hold wiper stalk to the manual wipe position until the wipers are in the service position.

I forgot there are some models that don't have it as a menu selection in the MMI. It appears the Q3 is one of those.

Yes, as mentioned above, after you have shut off the car but not opened the door, press down on the wiper stalk and the wipers will go into the service position.
