Default 2010 Q5 folding middle rear seat?

Just curious if anyone else has encountered this problem. Searched around and couldn't find an answer.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried to fold down the middle rear seat in their Q5. It appears to be separate and has a little button to push and release a latch. The latch is visible but upon pushing the button nothing happens...

Any help is appreciated.

It is not automatic when you press the button, You must by hand fold down the backrest down. Read the owner's manual

That is what I was doing. I have consulted the owner's manual in the past and did again after your reply and I am no further ahead.

All it instructs me to do is to push the button and fold the seat down.

That's exactly what I do in mine...push the button, pull the middle down.

Have you tried putting the other side (the third) down first? The button is near the headrest if I recall.

The button is by the head rest.

Tried many different configurations to see if any do the trick. No luck.

WHAT! OMG, I never knew or I assumed the Q5 only had 40/60 rear folding seats, and now to know it has 40/20/40 split seating
Man, I could of used this knowledge a few times.

Mind Blown!

Check it out!

See if yours works.

In my research it appears as if some Q5's don't have this feature, judging by pictures. And there's very little written on the feature.

If your rear seats look like this then you have the possibility of overlapping of the central part rear seat

If it looks like in this picture you do not have this feature
