Sadly it was a minimal improvement and I would say not worth the trouble. I did not replace the amp. You also have to buy mounting spacers because the magnet is too big, and then the screw **** to attach to the wheel well won't fit. I packed the unit in the wheel with a towel to keep it from flopping around. All in all, go custom.

I was thinking about a similar approach but, it looks like a custom job is the way to go. The twin 10" subs + amp looks like a good solution imho.

A single 12" is probably doable, too.

I'd like to keep my spare though. The setup with the 10"s looks like it will fit without sacrificing it.
