Default 2013 Q5 - Water Pump went out!

My water pump and oxygen sensor just went out on my 2013 Q5, after only 58,000 miles. Has anyone else see a problem with this? Any recalls?

What sort of water pump failure did you experience?

2013 3.0T - Water pump failed @ 22k mi, replaced under warranty. Was leaking coolant. Asked the Tech if it was the shaft seal or the gasket, he said he didn't know....ya right! No recalls AFAIK.

Looks like something was up with the water pump in 2013. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Rachel,
I can't speak for Audi, but when the 4WD system croaked on my Ford Explorer just out of warranty ($1400 repair), I called the selling dealer. (Bought it new from them.) Dealer went to bat for me talking with corporate and negotiated for me to pay half. Worth a shot...

A few questions...
- are you being quoted the repair by an Audi dealer ?
- if so, is it where you purchased Q5 ?
- if none of above, are there any reputable independent shops nearby for a second opinion ?

Begin under 60k, even if over 3 years, you might still have a shot at a warranty coverage. Maybe they'll at least cover the part cost.

Mine is getting replaced at 66,000 miles. I'm saving a little labor because it happened during the piston ring replacement that was covered under warranty
