Geez dude, Fonzie's first post and you beat him up. Not very befitting a "Super Moderator" IMHO...

A while back, Consumer Reports tested some compact luxury CUV's in the same issue. In the 60-0 dry/wet braking tests the Q5 was class competitive:

Q5 130ft./138ft., X3 130/138, RDX 132/144, SRX 135/147.

Around the same time, C&D did a comparo with 70-0 stopping distances:

Q5 169ft., X3 180ft., Evoque 165ft.

All were with 2.0t engines.

Mr. Fonz: My apologies if you thought I was impolite or disrespectful. A beat up wasn't intended. It's not uncommon for Mrs. Elevens to be the only person who gets my humor.

Brutus: I had no choice with the pretentious "Super Moderator" label. Thankfully you're only the first to bring it up.

No problem Elevens. I like to think we're above Audizine and the rest WRT beating up on each other (unintentional or otherwise). Just trying to stand up for the "little guy"...

My experience:
I had installed ceramic pads on XC90, LR2, and Q5 - each time I ended up removing those ceramic pads, because of two problems:
1. they did not brake well and
2. they destroyed factory OEM rotors ( I always used new rotors when installing ceramic pads).
I used Akebono on XC90, EBC on LR2 and Q5. After installing the ceramic pads I would lose the "smooth" brake pedal feel, and brakng required more effort with somewhat "spongy" feel...
Ceramic pads usually felt almost the same as OEM when new, but after 10-15K miles they would become spongy and needed more effort/pressure.
