Has anyone checked shock travel with these? Since the Euro models not only use a different spring, but a different shock too, do you know if putting drop springs on it runs the risk of riding the bump stop?

Of course when you lower it, you reduce bump travel on the shock, I just wonder if it is so close or if they put a larger bump stop on the shocks to cause it to run out of shock travel?

I haven't seen the Euro vs US shocks side by side to know if that is a risk...or measured shock travel on mine to see yet.

Either way, it looks more like it should lowered. Nice ride!

I got quotes between 350 and 800. I finally went with the 650 quote, since their shop was highly recommended and they convinced me they knew what they were doing most. 650 was 500 install and 150 align and run-in.

OP, thanks for all this great info; will be doing this to my Q5 TDI. Looks like a great ~$1K investment!

Any reason you went with the H&R Sport Springs 29001-1 and not the 29001-2 (for the TDI)? Also in regards to your alignment, did the steering angle sensor need to be reset/recalibrated for ADS?

Crap, now I want to lower my TDI. Maybe I will have trouble finding a reputable shop in Fort Worth and I will just save the money....

I don't think the -2 was available when I bought them. The -3 (SQ5) was available and I wasn't aware of any suspension differences between the Q5 TFSI and TDI, so I just assumed the -1.

Looks nice! I just purchased the same H&R springs and will have them installed next week on my black 2012.
