2014 Q5 Xenon Headlight Adjustment
Hi folks, any 2014 Q5's successfully adjust their Bi-Xenon headlights up or down (the non cornering/non adaptive headlights)?
Took it into the dealer and now the low beams hit the top of the trees and I get flashed constantly. They mentioned that they can only be set by a computer adjustment, and that there are two settings, factory and not factory. Nothing in between. Seems very odd.
The "not factory" are much too high.
The 2013's and earlier, you could hook up your trusty RossTech VAG-COM/VCDS, go to 55-Xenon and put them into "learn mode" , then tweek with the adjustment screws, then take them out of "learn mode".
For 2014, I can't find any place to put the headlights into "learn mode". The 55-Xenon is there under Chassis but won't communicate with the VCDS. Thus the trip to the dealer and now the very high headlights.
Hopefully someone has had success. Otherwise it's another 2 hour drive back to the dealer.
Thanks for your time.

Say hello to your dealer and ask him what this is in PDF
I do not know whether it is possible with VCDS but with ODIS (old VAS) it is possible. Do not forget VCDS is not an official progam VW group, has no access to all modules

That's a fantastic place to start spijun! Thank you very much!
Will be great when the RossTech folks figure out how to access that controller. Miss being able to tweak the lights.

You have a 2014 and the stock automatic-leveling headlights are sweeping the trees?
I'm not understanding why the dealer couldn't or didn't adjust those properly. Although I can understand, if the nearest dealer is two hours away, that you'd rather DIY.

The dealer adjusted them "up" for us, the low beams at highway speeds weren't shining far enough. Asked for a couple mm's, got 25mm instead... They did mention that most people weren't happy and soon came back and had them adjusted back to stock...
Found a local european ma and pa shop. Took spijun's instructions and their scan tool was able to get access the "learn" mode. So far their adjustment look promising.
Yes, was trying to avoid a two hour drive for a light adjustment.
