2015 Audi Q5 2.0t Transmission Question
I have had my Q5 for 5 months now and a question has made me curious. Is switching from "drive" and "sport" and vise versa while the car is in motion doing any sort of harm to the vehicle? Note: I'm not too knowledgeable about automobiles but know the basics. Also purchased a 2014 Honda Accord Sport last September and at the time of purchase the salesman warned not to change drive to sport while the car was in motion. I'm guessing the same applies? Sometimes the turbo lag is annoying so I desire the extra available power. But most of the time I drive in "sport" despite the higher fuel consumption because the car just drives so much more responsive.

From your owner's manual:
You can change the driving mode when the vehicle is stationary or while driving.

To add to Pete's quoting the manual, all switching between D/S/M does is change how the computer decides to change gears and respond to throttle input. It's not even a different shifter gate position for D vs. S in the Q5, it's simply "pull back to toggle". But even shifting into or out of M would be no problem, it's just software parameters changing whether the transmission will be told to upshift or downshift
Maybe Honda's has some sort of physical connection, or their programming is dumb, or the salesman was dumb, but in VAG vehicles there's no problem.
