Never had any issue at all with BT using music or Spotify apart from the very occasional half second stutter. The BT and iPhone in my SQ5 talk very well to each other. Unless you are a manic audiophile and absolutely must have the best lossless files playing on your stereo then BT is just fine IMO. I do however use an old 3GS to store my music library and have it just because I don't want my iPhone charging in the car as I listen to music. Also you don't get album art over BT nor videos so I use the red grommet Audi cable connected to the 3GS.

iPhone 6 + BT to Q5 (P+ with Nav) works just fine. Phone and music (pandora, iTunes, whatever). Can switch tracks from car controls, no problems with streaming music (no drops or jitter).

Just to ask another question or two regarding MMI and Iphones. How do you get album art on the screen? On FM, I'm not getting song information - artist, song, album. Should I?

From my 6+, I only get current track info over bluetooth and can only switch tracks. I cannot browse the entire music catalog through the MMI, you need to do that on the phone. Using an iPod in the glovebox, I get full control of the device through the MMI along with the album art since it's plugged into the AMI cable.

Yes on adapter, but as usual I don't get the appeal of doing this if the factors are weighed. I get cabling for A2DP vs. direct cable connection differences (and charging). But this just chains your current phone to the car, sets up risk of leaving it behind, makes it inaccessible if in glove box, maybe a break in target if next you end up with an extension cable and especially if ever left behind, etc.
Instead, just ask family and friends to dig out dime a dozen older iPhones (4, 4s, 5) from back of drawers/dust bins. Or an iTouch of most any era, or even an old iPod if really reaching back now. Doesn't matter with if screen cracked or otherwise cosmetically damaged either as long as it works. Then use whichever cable it is, often the older 30 pin. Dup whatever you want w/ iTunes to the slave device. Now you have a dedicated player for low dollars tucked away and no daily in out hassles.

Same idea; likewise have a few thousand on mine in 320kbits. Hand me down devices at basically zero further cost, plus all just managed through iTunes front end. No 32G limit, which I passed about 2 years ago w/ the higher bit rates. Importantly, either approach doesn't tie up and tie down current phone, risk of leaving behind, etc.
