2015 Q5 TDI on Order!

That makes total sense and I'm sure you're right about that. Maybe the exception is when you special order very late in the model year and the dealer no longer has anything in the queue that could be modified?
Having never done it before, there was some degree of mystery for me around actually ordering a vehicle to my specs, but the process was ridiculously quick and simple, so not sure why I thought it might be some big deal!

I agree. I thought it would be extra $ and a really long wait...it wasn't.
I believe that unless you want to drive something off the lot, ordering exactly what you want is a no-brainer.
My main reason for ordering was to get rid of that [transparent] concrete slab on the roof.

Justification:
* Texas heat, and there is no completely closed (dark) option.
* My last four vehicles had a sunroof, which I never used.
* No leaks, creaks, or wind noise...ever.
* The pano is 230 lbs (104 kg) on the roof!
* If you drive both, you can definitely feel the difference.
So yeah...absolutely no regrets. I haven't timed it yet, but it's got to be worth a tenth of a second 0-60.

I went with pano because I like having the extra light in the vehicle, especially with a black on black ride. Like idale says . . . it's all a matter of whatever floats anyone's individual boat. Bottom line for me . . . any Q5 or SQ5 rocks!
