Default 2016 Q5 bang&Olufsen vs regular radio

Hello all,

I am getting ready to order a new sq5 but debating whether to get the bang and Olufsen radio or stick with the base?
Is it worth the extra option?

John

I had a loaner q5 with the standards system for 6 weeks, now in my sq5 with B&O. The improvement is not monumental but is substantial. I like to listen with volume turned up, on a nice day with the roof open still retains great clarity, base unit was loading strength at this point and was almost uncomfortable at such a level. Is it a lot of coin for the incremental change? Yes..
Would I spend it again - absolutely.

Are there any preouts on the factory head unit?

I don't know, I haven't done it. Read here, might give you some ideas.

No preamp lines out. You have to tap into the existing subwoofer speaker wires and either use an adspter or feed inyo the "high level input" on your subwoofer amp.

The extra 900 bucks is money well spent. You will not regret it, I promise. But if you dont spring for the B&O, you'll be kicking yourself in the ***.

The stock system in the Premium Plus (with subwoofer) is great for a stock system. The B&O is better with clarity and imaging, but I wasn't crazy about the bass end. It could use a sub upgrade, but if you get too crazy you'll lose cargo space.
