Default Need help in SUV decision

I am looking to buy an SUV in the near future. It will primarily be used by wife. Need some space in the back for our kid as well. I haven't yet decided on a specific model or even a brand. But will consider x3, or Audi Q5. I suspect X5 will be too large as a daily driver for her.
Power or performance is not high on the list but ride comfort is. Would like to get an opinion from you guys. How good is the ride comfort of Q5, and how does it compare with x3?
How low would be a nicely optioned Q5 can come price wise (2014-2015)?
Would love parking sensors / camera / keyless entry and other premium bits.
Thanks in advance.

its best to give the Q5 a test drive first.

I will definitely do that. I just want a real world opinion of you guys before I go there. Once I go to the dealership, I find it hard to keep my cool and get swayed to many other directions. And I really hate pushy salesmen. Cheers.

I hate pushy salesmen too. lol we all do. usually I will knock off 6k and slowly work it.

I like the Q5 2.0T its quite roomy. Gas mileage is pretty good on it. Only complain that I really really have is about the cargo cover and the brakes.

Q5 is a very comfortable ride. I've not ridden in an X3.

What's wrong with the brakes?

We ordered a 2014 Q5 2.0T, Premium/HID/Heated Seats in Lava gray over black leather. Lightly equipped, but even a 'base' Q5 is nicely appointed.

Sticker with Destination was $39,995. Audi club gave me a 6% off MSRP and Audi Owners loyalty another $1K. Net $36,600 plus tax.

Personally, I see that as a fantastic deal in the luxury SUV market, but start checking all the boxes and you can easily spend another $20K on a Q5. BMW is even worse, base model X3's don't even have leather or AWD!

My car is due into port of Houston today, hopefully in my hands in another 10 days or so.

X3 is a little firmer compared to Q5. Q5 seating dimensions are close to the space in an X5 (not cargo space though); definitely a little roomier than the X3. X3 didn't feel "luxurious" to me...lots of plastic, felt very "entry" level SUV compared to a more refined feel and touch of the Q5

^^ +1 on all counts. Test drove the new gen X3 and Q5. Bottom line for me: I couldn't justify the X3's price tag when their interior IMHO is worse quality than a (not so) lowly Ford and smaller than the Q5.
