after changing to new tire, front left Knuckle touch the tire!

I went through this getting 245's of the same spec for my WRX wagon, there was a total variation of about inch in regard to section width between several manufacturers. The goal was to find a "narrow" 245.

it's MICHELIN Latitude Sport: 255/45R20 101W

i swap the back tire with the front, same issue.. looks like the suspension

hit like that bent the Knuckle shouldn't also damage the rim?

I'd vote for tire width issues. Anything that could bend a steering knuckle ("wheel carrier" these days) should be a memorable event. And, create a major issue with alignment and steering at all times.

I'd be curious what the tire makers had to say about why "the same" tires could be that different in width though. Those specs are supposed to assure fitment.

Those are nominal sizes, not actual sizes. Makers publish actual dimensions.

To assure fitment, stick to OE tires.

Got some photo for the problem, forget to do it when was rubbing the knuckle, now its with the old tire but can give idea about the issue:

left side (rubbing):








right tire (no issue):

It looks like the knuckle on the left side has had some work done to it at some point. The points on the nuts are partially rounded and the washers on the rubber pieces are a different color than those on the right. Maybe something was not put back together properly?
