"UPDATE: Hours after announcing its first recall related to Takata’s shrapnel-shooting airbags, Volkswagen and Audi revealed just which cars were affected by the defect.
VW’s recall covers model year 2006 to 2012 Passat sedans and wagons, model year 2010 to 2014 Golf and Jetta SportWagen, model year 2009 to 2014 CC, and model year 2012 to 2014 Eos, the Associated Press reports.

The company also announced the recall of model year 2005 to 2015 Audi A3, 2006 to 2009 A4 Cabrios, 2009 to 2013 Q5 SUVs and 2010 to 2011 A5 Cabrios."

There is a separate airbag recall for side impact airbags on 2015 Q5's produced from Jan 13, 2015 to Feb 3, 2015. Recall on NHSTA and other sites - dealer had no word from Audi.

I just called the local dealer about this recall. They ran my VIN and said there was no active recalls on my vehicle.

My dealer said same but if your car was built in January 2015 like mine we may not be out of the woods. NHSTA note below - don't think VINs posted yet.

Give it some time...check back with them and/or check the Audi site. Officially they haven't yet started informing owners.

I just checked my VIN # on the Audi owners web site and nothing yet. As mentioned, it's early so I'll check again over the weekend.

Just an FYI..
I saw the list that says Audi Q5 2009-2013 (plus 2015 as noted previous).
But I've seen more articles listing only the years 2009-2012.

I know nothing about Takata as a company but I sure wouldn't want to be employed there nowadays...
