Does Audi Q5 have Automatic Shut-off?
Hello there we have a Audi Q5 2018. Recently my wife has been taking the car to her work. I'm kind of worried about her not Shutting of the car by pressing the Start/Stop button when getting out of the car. My question is if she forgets to press the Start/Stop button, does the car engine stops itself automatically? Or would it keep running the whole day when she is in her office?

Nope, it'll keep running. I do this all the time when I forget something in the house and run in to get it, and my son is in the car and complains about the dinging.
It's probably a safety feature - don't want the car to shut down on the highway if it temporarily loses contact with the key fob.

Yeah, it'll keep on idling. And if she doesn't lock it, anyone can run off with it. Because Audi in their infinite foolishness decided you need a key to start the vehicle, but you don't need a key to shift it out of park.
As for the dinging, if it's like the dinging when the door is open but the ignition is on, you can just press the toggle on the end of the wiper stalk (the trip computer rocker switch) and it'll mute it.

As the others said the engine will idle indefinitely (until it runs out of gas). However, if the car has the factory settings it will not lock while the engine is running (ignition is on). If she pays attention to the lock confirmation signals than she will know that something is wrong because she will not be able to lock the car.

I'll never forget the story here of the guy that put his keys down on a bench or shelf next to his Q5 in the garage to put his kid in the safety seat and then drove from somewhere like NJ to Maine and then realized he had no FOB and had to return home......
I personally like the older FOB in the dash slot system to start and stop the engine. Plus it allowed you to remove the manual key from the FOB while the engine is running and lock the door. Great in the winter to warm up the vehicle and not have someone drive off with it unless they had a brick, or something.
