Default Audi Connect on Q5 2015

Hi,

I bought Q5 2015 with premium plus package. When i tried using Audi Connect, customer care told me that I can use ONLY service provided by them. However, i read in some other threads in Audiworld that i can use sim even from Truphone. Please advise on how i should setup Audi Connect on my Q5 with sim from other than through Audi Connect.

Thanks in advance..

Thanks Mrclopec. If possible, please provide link or steps to use prepaid T-Mobile data sim card.

T-Mobile prepaid? Just pop the sim into the dash. Your car just wants Internet for all of its connected services. The only purpose for calling Audi to establish audiconnect to to sell you data. If you pop in any SIM card, it will accomplish that.

Are you able to put the sim into another device to verify it has internet connectivity? Also, you may need to input Tmobile's apn settings into the MMI's connection settings.

APN settings in my car is as of T-Mobile's (m2m.t-mobile.com) with user name and password as blanks.

I havent tried this sim with other devices. Do you think so this could be the reason? Please advise.

Well, thats the correct apn. My next suggestion would be to find another mobile device you can pop that sim into to make sure it is provisioned for data and that it actually works. Are you in the states?

Stop by your tmo store. If you have or know somoene that has a plan, ask them to get you a "tablet" plan. That is 10 bucks a month. Voila, you'll be set.
