No need to be frustrated. On any forum page look for the "Display Options" drop down menus near the bottom left of the page.

Why don't you find out what this remedy will actually be before jumping the gun? Like others said, there will be plenty of time to pick a law firm which will rip you off (because that's what most class action suits end up with anyway - lawyers get millions, while participants get peanuts).

OP's original question doesn't imply that they are joining a class action lawsuit. People are asking questions to be better informed.
That said, I would like to know what other steps people recommend taking with the dealership, AOA, or VAG to ensure a suitable remedy via either legal or non-legal actions.
Here is an article that the OP might be interested in reading that discusses whether you should join a class action lawsuit. As Redd mentioned, the cases will likely be merged into one lawsuit. As well, as the article I link to mentions, class actions have opt-out mechanisms rather than opt-in where you will likely be automatically included as part of a class action as an absent class member if you are an owner of an affected vehicle.

There's a special federal court "panel" that takes up consideration of whether various similar suits, filed in any jurisdictions, should be joined. Currently there are over 200 suits and petitions to join them and have them heard in about ten different venues, and the panel is first taking statements from all parties as to why and where they should or should not be joined.
Leading contenders for the venue, if the suits are joined, include Virginia (near VW & DC) and Newark (near VD, US Fed offices, and convenient to Europe) and Cali (where there are many owners and special state regulations) among others.
Whoever gets chosen as "the" lead team stands to make the most in fees, so there will be a lot of jockeying in the next few months while the first question, that of consolidation, is heard.
They may well split the suits into several parts, i.e. one for owners claiming damages for fraud, without consideration of anything else. A second for owners of any and all VW products, claiming devaluation, regardless of fraud and specific product. And so on. Or, they may combine everything, figuring that one jury can integrate all the answers.
But it this first stage (the panel ruling) comes out before January 1st, and if it isn't appealed and reconsidered for two or three months afterwards...that would still mean "sit back and relax, this is gonna take a while." And then the typical four years afterwards for the case to come to trial or be settled--before the appeals start.
Individual lawsuits can be started at any time, by anyone, if they're in a rush.
