Very nice! What diesel cars have you had since 2004?
Yeah, it's fun to find new things/ways to graph with the data we've already collected

That's my wife's 2004 Golf; we're now an all-TDI family.

Nice, I almost bought a Golf TDI around that time too. I was driving 140 miles/day rountrip to work in my B5 S4 (2.7T) and decided I wanted something more economical. I priced out a new one and the end result of costs and lower power overall didn't balance out well. The used ones were still holding their value, so I ditched the idea. In 2005, I started looking again with a slight twist, and found the perfect car for my needs. For 1.5 years around 2001 VW made the 4-dr Golf with a 1.8T engine (otherwise reserved for the 2-dr GTIs). I picked up a 2001.5 with 133k miles for $6500 and it already had GTI seats, upgraded stereo, suspension, bbs wheels, and a thule roof rack. I ditched the powered infiniti sub box and swapped the BBS wheels for some OEM GTI wheels and proceeded to make it an OEM sleeper. Picked up a GT28R turbo for $100 bucks from a friend upgrading and pieced together an APR Stg3 kit, larger side mount intercooler, full exhaust with turn down tips, etc. Now I had something that was still a blast to drive on the highway, but economical overall. After I moved in 2008, I didn't need it as much and then picked up a newer A3 to replace it.

Cool! I had a 1.8T B5.5 Passat for 8 years and remember the things that people were doing with those (then there was the maniac who actually put a 2.7TT in there). I can only imagine how the lighter Golf must've taken the mods... custom "R18". The Mk4 was a pretty decent Golf, and still holds up pretty well today IMO. At least, holds up as well as it ever did!
