Default Issues with Q5 brakes

Hello Guys - got new 2.0T 2014 Q5 2 months ago have only 460kms. noticed from beginning spongy brakes, increased travel time - took to deal found leak in brake system, changed rear callipers and bleed brakes, picked up yesterday better than before but not the same as other Q5 I drove- had loaner last week much better brakes. Is this due to new vehicle and should expect to get better with time. Anyone else have same issue?

I have the SQ and the brakes are different. I do notice a lot of travel at first, but overall they feel very linear. No complaints here.

Very little travel with my 2014, 2.0T. Nice and firm, modulate well, great stopping performance.

They have fitted ceramic pads and different calipers to the 2013 and newer Q5s. I find the braking performance to be minimal when the vehicle is new. It's going to take some miles to gain a more normal braking experience.

Thank you every one, I hope this will get better with more miles, clearly the feel is still soft, it take that extra push but brakes perfectly. All Q5 we test drove had 4-6 K kms and loaner had 11k with execellent brakes, so hope will get better. I visited myaudiforum lots of owners have experinced same issue of increased travel time in new vehicles. Ours was bad as we did not only had increased travel time but poor brakes as well due to brake fluid leak - if any one has same issue check for leak as apparently this is a small rubber seal can lead to leak.

Many will say clean wheels is worth the trade off in terms of outright braking. You just have to get used to it and adapt 'til the brakes are really worn in. This may be 5k miles or so. I can tell you with certainty that the braking on these cars is impressive when you really need to stop Audi fits massive brakes to their vehicles.

460 kms doesn't say anything about how much braking time you have had. On my last car I changed pads every 50k miles, so it wasn't very often, and the last round were a high end composite pad. Because I avoided the left pedal (stick shift) and had a 1200 mile road trip in the middle of things, the new brakes didn't get much wear time until maybe 1500 miles after the change, but if that was a half hour? or hour? of using the brakes at all, that was enough to make a huge difference in how they seated and worked.

I would say to make a point of using "too much" brakes, make sure to brake instead of just slowing down, and try to make sure they are broken in fully. Patiently.

Thanks for your input, near 500 kms now and clearly brakes not used much initially we did have problems with brakes as there was a leak and big travel time with weak brakes, so was not driving on highways as I was not sure will be able stop in time, since changing callipers brakes have improved, and as you mentioned must get better once used a bit.
Some owners in other forums have also experienced increase travel time and I suggest should get brakes checked out for brake fluid leaks
