Default Cabin Pollen Filter

My wife's SQ5, 1 year old and 12,300 miles. I changed the pollen filter in it (10 minutes, easy to do) and thought you might like to see the before and after. These are often overlooked, but its the air you breathe inside the vehicle.

They do that during schedule maintenance visits right?
Anyone know how often? Or which ones?

First regularly scheduled replacement is at 15k miles, and then every 20k miles after that.

It depends on the conditions where the vehicle is used (Humidity, dust .....)
In the Middle East it is every 10k km = 6k miles
Same as intrerval oil changes 15k-30k

The person that asked the question is in the US, so I told him what the maintenance schedule for the US says about replacing this filter. Why would he care about what it is in Middle East???

His scheduled maintenance visits will probably be at a dealer in the US, not at a dealer in the Middle East.

Good answers everyone. That makes sense it would vary dependent on region.

I knew the took care of it during service visits, and I used to have something that had a breakdown of what each service visit entailed.

Thanks all.

There are areas of the US that could be as unfriendly to these issues as the Middle East. I took the point that you have to consider your individual driving conditions,as most all owners manuals point out.Keep an open mind

I realize that, but that was not the question that was asked. The question was "how often does it get replaced as part of scheduled service visits"? And the answer is that the dealer will only replace it as often as their book says, which is what I provided. Whether that's enough based on your own operating conditions is a different question.

WOW

It's not the same if you drive every day in N.Y. or in a small town.
If you're in territory where high humidity or dust and.....and ...............

Bye-bye
