Think it does. And this would explain why the two keys show different behaviors WRT shifting.

What I meant was that even if I matched the settings for both keys, the 'harsh' up shift and down shift still exists. It definitely feels like it is not good for the transmission.

I dropped off the car at the dealer. They are doing testing and so far they said they did not get any code for engine or transmission and it is driving perfectly fine...

The said they will do more testing with comp hooked up tomorrow.

They must not be test driving it right because the loaner Q5 i've got (2014) is shifting very smooth, totally different from mine.

What should my next step be if dealer says they cannot find anything wrong?

I've had my TDI for 2 weeks now and about 600 miles, so far I haven't notice anything odd about the transmission, shifts are really smooth.

I just got my car back yesterday. They did not find any codes but they did readaptation for the gearbox.

After I picked it up I test drove city and highway. Seemed ok although it seemed to have some lag in 1-2 shift. Downshift seemed resolved.

Service department told me to just drive around for a bit because they did not want to do too much to a new car. I also had it for two weeks.

I guess I will just need to drive around more and let the car adapt and see how it goes from there.
