Default Cargo Mat Cut-Outs For Fitting A Cargo Net

Just received a cargo mat and it has four cut-out areas, with icons of scissors, that need to be removed in order to access the anchor points to utilize the cargo net.

Has anyone cut these out?

Looking for recommendations on tools and technique.

Thanks in advance!

I used a utility knife but only cut on three sides, leaving the long side/outside uncut..so not it's a flap...use a sharp knife and be careful as it's easy to get offline..

I used a utility knife and backed it up with wood. Just take your time and remember cut only 3 sides.

I took a box cutter and sliced all around 4 corners did not leave flap so the hooks are exposed.

No biggie

OK. Thanks for the advice.

Why leave it as a flap though? Seems like the cut-outs are made to have the anchors fully exposed.

Thanks again!

I'd use a standard X-Acto hobby knife with the usual #11 blade in it, easier to make neat corners. And a metal straight-edge of any kind, to make the cuts nice and straight. Score the line, then repeat, rather than trying to "saw" through. By the third hole, you might want a new sharp blade, no matter what you use.

Box cutter worked fine. Did 4 sides, frequently use tie downs.

I accidentally cut the entire thing out of mine and got off of line on all 4. I don't think I could ever stay within the lines when coloring as a kid either. Mine looks like a 3rd grader did it but what the heck...it's leased.....

I don't believe there is an OE one. Looks like my WeatherTech tray, but without their logo.
