Changing HID bulb- what a PITA
A year ago I changed the driver's side HID bulb- I had to remove the air box in order to reach the bulb.
Yesterday I changed the pass. side bulb- I had to remove the PS reservoir bracket and move it out of the way before I gained access to the bulb; also, the 3 bolts holding the headlight had to be removed and the whole headlight had to be moved forward in order to have enough space for my hand to twist the locking lever.
The headlight would not come out completely, so I had to remove the 2 torx screws holding the PS bottle bracket…the whole thing took almost an hour - I was doing it slowly because I was tired after work and did not want to mess anything up

The good news is that HID capsules (only consumers call them "bulbs") are typically good for about ten years of normal use. Although putting a fingerprint on the glass, or similar contamination, can radically shorten that, just as with halogen bulbs.
