Default Diamond Stitching - SQ5

Hey guys. I'm hoping a few of you that has a SQ5 with the diamond stitching on the seats sees this post. I recently was involved in a major accident where my previous SQ5 was totaled. Finally after a month and a half of living in car rental limbo, I was able to take delivery of what is a pretty decked out SQ5 with all the options you'd want, including the diamond stitching on the seats. Now that I've had the car for a few days I've noticed that the stiching on the seats are extra hard and seem to dig into you when you've been driving for more than a few minutes to the point where an hour long drive has proven to be quite painful. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Do the strings eventually soften up?

Thanks!

I just picked up my 17 SQ5 and opted for the diamond stitching. I find the seats a tad bit more comfortable than the non-stitched versions personally. Did you have the comfort seats prior? No issues for me so far.

Hey there. Congrats on your new 2017 SQ5!

I had the nappa leather sport seats before which I thought were pretty good. The problem I'm having is that the stitching on my seats seem to be extremely hard, almost as if you're sitting on a hammock made from tiny strings.

I have the SQ5 with the diamond stitch "exclusive interior" the leather is quite nice but the stitching is harder than the surrounding leather so you can feel it a bit. It has never been uncomfortable but, I can see it bothering some. I also use 303 to wipe the seats which may soften the thread.

I've had my 2016 SQ5 with diamond stitch leather since May and no issues at all. I find the seats firm but not at all uncomfortable. Spend on average of 2 hours in my car a day commuting and seats are very comfortable.

'16 SQ5 here, with diamond stitching. No issues here, but then again I don't drive naked as it appears you do.

On a different note...do i just treat the diamond stitching/ leather same as non-diamond as in just applying a quality leather conditioner to the leather and stitching? Mainly concerned with discoloring the stitching. Thanks

Hi, old thread here but wanted to see if anyone else has this issue and found a fix. I have an A8, D4 and must be overly sensitive because the stitching is driving me crazy too. The thread is like fishing line and after about 15 mins I find it aggravating around the lower back. I’m wondering if it can just be removed and going to check with a place that does interior/leather work. I can try conditioing the leather but doubt it would do anything to the stiching. The seats themselves are comfortable, it’s just the tactile feel that’s my issue (like sleeping on $20 sheets).

thanks
